The Great Comeback

The Seniors season started with Home and Away fixtures against Worthing playing for the Putter used by J.H.Taylor, the architect of our course.
The first leg was at Worthing on what was a bright but chilly March morning. Slowly but surely the wind got up and it started snowing which quickly turned into a full on blizzard! Despite a brave effort from the Seaford team we lost the match by 6 to 2.
The second leg was held on a beautiful day on 19th April. A pep talk by our captain, Andy Woods, suggested that we could turn this around, a statement he later admitted he didn’t believe. Well turn it around we did, winning 6 matches and halving the other 2 giving us and overall score of 9-7! Well done to Seaford’s 16 men for such a great effort. Worthing took defeat very well and were great company resulting in a very enjoyable couple of days.
J.H.Taylor’s Putter will be on display in the clubhouse for the rest of the year.
